Easter Egg Hunt and Party Games

For the 4th year, I am in charge of my neighborhoods Annual Easter Egg Hunt.   I just love organizing events such as this.  We have a small, newer subdivision with tons of young children. I wanted to change things up a bit this year. We have played the same games the last 3 years.  Time for something new :D  While searching around, I found several sites with great Easter Party ideas.  Check em out!

How to fold towel animals....

My in-laws just returned from vacation. We all know that vacations breed tons of photos. As I was jealously looking through their photos, I noticed the cute towel animals. I always see these when we go on vacation and say I am going to find out how to make them... I always forget. Now, with no unpacking to do from that vacation.. hehe... I thought to look up instructions. My daughter is just delighted with my new found talent. My son, who isn't home right now, has a surprise waiting on the bathroom counter. I now realize my need for a few white towels ;)

Here are some great links for making your own towel animals...

Airstream Ranch

Have you heard of the Airstream Ranch?

Probably not, but if you have traveled from Tampa to Orlando, you could not have missed it!

My kids think it is really cool and so do I!!!

The owner of Bates RV calls this art.  These are real, full sized RV's !!!

They are "planted" on the side of I-4.

Be sure to look for this cool site if you are in the area.

I promise your kids will get a HUGE kick out of it!!!

What's For Supper?

It is time to get rid of this baby fat!

After my 2nd child, I hit the South Beach diet pretty hard. I lost the weight from baby number 2, baby number 1, AND those few pounds I had gained after the wedding... a whopping 70 lb. difference! Of course, as soon as I lost it all, I found out surprise number 3 was on his way!

Now that he is here, it is time to get rid of all the fat clothes again!
Mandy, a friend from Boutique Wild Child, started a "What's for dinner?" Mr. Linky. I thought this might give me a chance to share some of my favorite Southbeach Diet Recipes.

This is one of my favorites. It is super easy too ;)

Chicken Capri
Phase 1

Ingredients
  • 1 cup ricotta, skim
  • 1/2 tsp ground oregano
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 breasts, bone and skin removed chicken breasts
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsps virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped or sliced tomatoes
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a blender or food processor, combine the ricotta with the oregano, salt, and pepper. Process to blend. Set aside.

Rub the chicken with the garlic powder. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 12 minutes per side. Place the chicken breasts, side by side, in a large baking dish and allow to cool.

Preheat the oven to 350° F (180° C).

Spoon 1/4 cup of the cheese mixture and 1/4 cup tomatoes onto each chicken breast. Top each chicken breast with 1 slice mozzarella.

Bake for 20 minutes, or until a thermometer inserted in the thickest portion of a breast registers 170° F (75° C) and the juices run clear.

This recipe is from the South Beach diet cookbook. YUM!!!!

Be sure to visit Mandy's "Whats for Supper?" post and add your post to Mr. Linky!

Building your own Widget / Gadget

I have found the coolest tool. It is called KickApps. KickApps allows you to make your own Widgets / Gadgets.   It is totally FREE too!

Take a look at the Boutique Wild Child Blog Widget I made in the right sidebar.

You have to create a free KickApps community account to gain access to App Studio Widget Creator. It is confusing at first, but after you play around for a few minutes, you'll figure it out!

Here are some samples of  Widgets created with Apps Studio.  These look much better than the one I made does... hahaha, not half bad for a newbie tho...

When you make one, post your link here in the comments.  I would LOVE to see your creation!!!
